••• Using PowerAdd (Drag & Drop Adding) •••
Under System 7 Pro (with the Drag Manager Installed) and the soon to be released System 7.5, PowerLaunch users have two special drag & drop features that can be used with PowerLaunch.
The first feature allows users to add files by dragging their icons from the Finder, to the App Palette.
Simply click the Addition Tool. When PowerLaunch prompts you to select a destination for the addition, you can select icons from the Finder and drag them into the PowerLaunch App Palette.
When you have completed your additions, simply cancel the addition mode by pressing command-period. Other notes :
• QuickApps - Applications, Control Panels, etc. can be drag added one-at-a-time from the Finder. After activating the "Addition Tool" as mentioned above, simply drag the icon of the application, etc. to an EMPTY space on the PowerLaunch App Palette.
• Documents - Single or multiple selections of Documents can be attached to QuickApps in PowerLaunch's App Palette. After activating the "Addition Tool" as mentioned above, simply drag the icon(s) of the documents you wish to add from the Finder to an occupied space on the App Palette.
The second feature allows documents to be "Drag Launched" from PowerLaunch. For example, you have the ability of selecting files from the Finder and dragging them to an application icon on PowerLaunch's App Palette. PowerLaunch will then launch the application and instruct it to open the files you dragged to the app's icon.
For those users who are not using System 7 Pro or System 7.5, PowerAdd will provide you with limited Drag & Drop Adding features. Simply drag the icons of the files (not folders) to the PowerAdd icon, making sure that the PowerAdd icon is highlighted before releasing the mouse button. If PowerLaunch is running, it will prompt you to select destinations for the QuickApps added.
PowerAdd Notes :
• Documents added through PowerAdd MUST be the same creator type as an existing QuickApp.
• You cannot add documents to QuickApp Extensions by using PowerAdd.
• If PowerLaunch is NOT running when PowerAdd is used, the files will be added the next time PowerLaunch is executed.
